NOTE: With the economy as it is, the HBD is struggling to
meet its meager operating expenses of approximately $3500
per year. If less than half of those currently directly
subscribed to the HBD sent in a mere $5.00, the HBD would
be able to easily meet its annual expenses, with room to
spare for next year. Please consider it.
Financial Projection As of 13 Jun 2010
Projected 2010 Budget $3305.65

Calvin, Al Korzonas states in "Homebrewing, Volume I",
"Bramling Cross- an "aroma varirety" from Britian. It is a grandparent of
Saxon and Viking. Bramling Cross has a unique toasty, buttery, slightly
resiny aroma with some woody notes. Substitutes: Fuggle, in my opinion,
based on aroma." " Alpha 5.5 to 7.0, Beta acid % of Alpha 2.5 to 3.5,
Cohumulone acid 34
I have not used it myself, but have always found Al's information to be very
good. His book has great descriptions of hops, yeasts, styles, etc.
Hey Al, is there a Volume II in the works yet?

Calvin, I haven't brewed with Bramling Cross, but Ant Hayes mentioned
it in his presentation[1] (slide 21) at the last AHA Conference as
used in single-varietal golden ale. Seems it must have decent flavor
and aroma profiles to be used in single-varietal beer.
