NOTE: With the economy as it is, the HBD is struggling to
meet its meager operating expenses of approximately $3400
per year. If less than half of those currently directly
subscribed to the HBD sent in a mere $5.00, the HBD would
be able to easily meet its annual expenses, with room to
spare for next year. Please consider it.

Dana asked about must-visit places in Orlando.

I'm sure you've been to Orlando Brewing Company, but if not, I highly
recommend it. A nice variety of beers on tap and some very nice people.

Dana-

If you have been beer hunting in Orlando in the
past couple of years, you've probably already been
to Orlando Brewing (http://www.orlandobrewing.com/).
There's another brewery that opened up a few months
ago just north of Clermont called Lagniappe
(http://www.lagniappebrewing.com/). It's a bit of a
drive from the City, but it's worth it IMO. The
tasting room is open Wed.-Sat. This is a shameless
plug for my local brewery, not a paid endorsement.

Subject: Coloring

To carry the idea of getting color without roast malt flavors one step
further than Carafa you might want to consider Sinamar - a product
made explicitly for this purpose from Carafa. I have no idea how one
would get his hands on a reasonable quantity of this stuff this side
of the pond but the particulars are at
http://www.weyermann.de/eng/produkte.asp?

(sorry I had to break this in half to meet the 80 char. criterion)

Subject: Black IPA thanks

Thanks to everyone who replied.
I will go with a pretty straight forward grain bill of 2 row base malt with
a small amount of crystal & Carafa 2 for colour.
And as always lots of hops including a large dose of Cascade close to flame
out & for dry hopping.
